I cannot believe that in less than one month, I will be eighteen years old. So much has happened in what seems like so-little time. I’ve made friends, and lost friends too. I’ve fallen in and out of love. I’ve gotten bruised and cut up, but yet I still strive on. There are so many people in my life that have impacted me both negatively and positively. I sit here typing on this laptop that my Nana (R.I.P) and my Papa gave me after my 8th grade year, this contraption is already four years old. Was it really that long ago? Time sure knows how to fly, I wish I knew how to fly.
In my young life, I’ve lived in six or seven different houses. I’ve only been able to call two of those houses home. Okinawa, Japan holds my first home and where I reside now is my second home. Military life will do that to you, it drives you mad. You make friends and then you have to leave. It was a constant motion, finally ending here. I just cannot believe that all of this time has gone by. I still remember when I rode around on my purple tricycle all over my neighborhood in Okinawa and hanging out with my best friend, Zoe, who I still talk to today.
Life is just hard to believe.
In approximately seven months, I will walk across that stage and receive my diploma. All of this hard work will pay off, I will be graduating with my best friends and people that I’ve known for a few years now. Life will continue when I turn my tassel, let’s just say one chapter is coming to a close and another one is on it’s way to be printed.
